Principal Feature:
5CrNiMo steel has good toughness, strength and high wear resistance, and is a hot work die steel. Its mechanical properties are almost the same at room temperature and 500~600℃. When heated to 500°C, it can still maintain a hardness of about HB300. Because the steel contains molybdenum, it is not sensitive to temper brittleness. After slowly cooling down from 600℃, the impact toughness is only slightly reduced.
Typical Application:
5CrNiMo steel is suitable for making various large and medium-sized hammer forging dies with complex shapes and heavy impact loads (side length > 400mm).
Heat Treatment:
Quenching, 830~860℃ oil cooling.
